How do you put new Serpentine Belt on?



Hey im looking for some help with my serpintine belt. The belt recently broke and i have no idea how to put my new one on. So please help!!!

Are you talking about the timing belt? (the large belt under all of the covers and everything?) If that belt broke, it might not be as simple as just installing a new one.



However, if it was one of your accessory belts that drives the alternator, power steering pump, ect, you have a much easier and less timing consuming job on yours hands.

Wheres the tensioning pulley to loosen everything to slip the belt on? Anyone have a diagram on this? I do not have one under my hood

LOOSEN PIVOT BOLT,ADJUSTING LOCK and BOLT. Push down on alternator and install belt.

No spring loaded tensioner on these models. Old fashioned pivot style like csaxon's diagram shows. Get a good six point socket on those bolts and the job should go smoothly. Passenger tire removed and the right front apron removed will give you good access and view. There is a another belt besides that one. Might want to do both and be done with it.
