Time for rims

Gettin Ready to order these. The question is 17s or 18s? The 18s are almost 300 bucks more and may make the ride really uncomfortable. Springs are on the list and coming too. Just cant decided which ones. I dont wanna ruin the comfort of the ride too much, but goin lower just looks soooo nice.

I like those. Good choice. My opinion would be 17s. After looking at a bunch of different pics of both sizes I just prefer the look of the 17s on our Corollas more. Especially when lowered. I can only speak to the TRD lowering springs. I just installed mine recently and although it is a stiffer ride it isn't uncomfortable to me at all. The added handling a treat.

Just my $.02.

yeah dude

grreat choice

but i also must agree in saying that 17's look better on the corolla

18's are good too, but 17 look better

If it's comfort you're after, go with the 17's and run a higher profile tire. (ie taller)

If I ever decide to upgrade my wheels, I'd get 18s.

My drop make my 17s look too small for the car IMO.

Im really leaning towards the 17s for price and comfort. The 18s would look awesome... but its it worth the extra cost and loss of comfort for another inch. I am probably gonna stick between 1.5" to 2" for the drop. Maybe even less. Its a tough decision.

17inchs are nice but theres a small gap in between my wheels even when im on stechs

I just finished putting wheels and springs on this past weekend. Picked up some 17's with a 225/45/17 tire. Also went with eibach pro kit spring. I was considering the Trd springs, but have always used eibach and was confident that their drop was going to be mild...nice and even. Pics.

You live in NH, therefore you have winter which equals potholes, go with 17's. I am in the same boat, I wanted 18's but they wouldn't last 2 days on Michigan roads so I am going with 17's.

IMO the 17" size is the best combination for ride, handling & looks.

That's because your stock 215/45R17 tire is too small. The 225/45R17 tire is a more accurate size for the speedo. It's also the same diameter as the 225/40R18.

As I said, the diameter of the 225/45R17 is the same as the 225/40R18. The gap will be the same for either one. If you wanted to you could even use a 235/45R17 or a 235/45R18 to fill even more of the wheel well.

See above responses.

The size of the wheel has nothing to do with keeping the size of the tire diameter accurate for a speedometer reading. As the wheel gets bigger the tire sidewall gets shorter which hurts ride & can also be worse on handling when the tire sidewall gets too short.
