Possible To Lubricate Cabin Heater Fan?

I use my fan a lot. On the fan settings 1 and 2, I can hear a faint clicking noise like a card hitting the spokes of a bicycle wheel. On settings 3 and 4 the air flow sound is loud enough to cancel out the noise. Has anybody tried opening up the fan motor and spraying WD-40 on the fan bearing, or if this is even possible? I think our fan motor is behind the glove box underneath the cabin air filter. If it is an easy fix I wouldn't mind doing it myself. I'm currently at about 52K miles on the car.

If it is anything like my old '99, it is easy to replace. Just remove the glove box, pull a few more screws, and you will have the motor and the fan out. See if a leaf or something is hitting the fan. Can you lube it - NO. If it still makes noise, write down the part number and order it. I think it cost me about $80. Takes about 15 minutes to replace.

Just had mine replaced under warranty. Mine would chirp when useed on cold mornings, for the first 5 minutes or so. really bad on level 1.
