Vibration Coming From Rear

I have a 2006 Tocoma 4 door TRD OFF ROAD. it has 89,000.00 on it.

I have not had the transmission or the rear end service yet and the serpintean belt has not been replaced.

I am getting a fairly heavy vibration coming from the back of the truck. (I can feel it in my Ars). Can be felt from about 50 mph up and seem most apperant when under load. Take foot off gas and let it coast and the vibration reduces to almost nothing.

I was thinking it was tires at first, there pretty warn but tires wouldn't stop vibrating when you take your foot of gas.

Anyone with ideas ideas or experance with this problem would be helpful

thanks

I'd start with ... has the rear diff fluid EVER been checked and or changed???

and then have a look at the drive line: U Joints and Hanger/carrier bearing

m.a.h.

If you have a PreRunner, I bet it's a bad u-joint.

U-Joint was the first thing I thought of when I was reading your post.

Well I went and crawled under the truck and everything looked normal except for maybe the carrier, I can move the drive shaft around about 3/16 to a 1/4 inch in all directions with minimal pressure in the carriec assembly. Total movement one extreme to the other is about 1/2 inch.

I did a google search on "toyota tocoma carrier bearing" and got some pretty good results.

Then I found a you tube vidio where someone straped a camera under the truck and shot video.

This one was the key I think, this one had sound and under medimun to hard exceleration it made a squeaking cherping noise.

Well, I heard that noise on my truck under medium to hard excelleration!!!!

I guess it's now worth changing to find out. I would have never expected a part like this to wear out at 90,000 miles on a Toyota!!!!

Where the best place to buy a replacement and what is the procedure to replace.

Thanks
