2008 Highlander - Bluetooth

Recently bought a 2008 highlander base model. Has all the models equipped with bluetooth ? How to activate bluetooth if it's available. If not available, how can bluetooth be installed ?

to Toyota Nation!

Unfortunately, BT was available on the Limited models only, at least in Canada.

If you're thinking about BT for cell phone, I don't know much about aftermarket BT installations to existing systems, but you can definitely get small portable BT speakerphone units that clip to your sun visor. I have seen some by Motorola at Costco, but BlueAnt also makes units. Or you could install a new head unit (radio) with BT included.

My Base '10 came with BlueTooth. You can buy the same unit off the internet that is installed by Toyota and install it yourself. Someone on here somewhere had a link to it online. It plugs into the radio, has a mic that attaches just below the instrument cluster, and the button is installed in one of the available slots to the left of the steering wheel (next to the instrument cluster dimmer). Online, it looks like it runs just under $200 or so. You can contact Gary on the forum for a price quote (TOYOPARTSMAN).

Here's a link to the unit's install instructions with pics of what it looks like:
